UNDP and National Institute of Administrative Research Sign Agreement on Leadership Development for the Civil Services

25 April 2012, New Delhi: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the National Institute of Administrative Research (NIAR), Government of India, have signed a letter of agreement to enable the implementation of activities under the Pathways for an Inclusive Indian Administration (PIIA) project. Under this agreement, NIAR will establish a Leadership Development Cell which will undertake research to gather best practice from India and abroad, develop training materials and elaborate policy recommendations that will complement the National Training Policy. This initiative is one component of a wide ranging partnership between UNDP and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions which aims at developing capacities for an inclusive and results-oriented civil service.
