    A national digital conflict map has been developed and launched in Kumasi, Ghana. The map, which is an online version of a detailed research document, Mapping Conflicts in Ghana, was developed by the University of Cape Coast for the National Peace Council with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

    Five UN Agencies to Help Ghana Green its Economy

    The United Nations, in partnership with the Government of Ghana, has launched an initiative to support national efforts to transition to a greener and more inclusive economy. Known as the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE), the initiative would entail mobilizing social awareness and providing specialized training to identifying critical bottlenecks, formulating and assessing policy options, and enabling policy implementation for greening the economy.

    Ghana launches the 2014 Human Development Report

    The national launch of the 2014 Human Development Report (HDR) has taken place in Accra, with a call to address the widening inequality gap attendant upon Ghana's economic growth. In the report, Ghana is ranked 138 out of 187 countries and territories, with a 2013 Human Development Index value of 0.573— which is in the medium human development category.

    Maiden Governance and Peace Poll launched in Ghana

    The findings of the first-ever Governance and Peace Poll (GaP Poll) in Ghana has been launched during a media briefing in Accra on Wednesday July 30th 2014. Commissioned by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and its lead partners, and implemented by the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD), the poll is a representative public opinion survey that serves as a mechanism to track the extent to which progress is being made in the areas of governance and peace as they relate to approved work plans under the United Nations Development Assistance Framework.

    Committee to oversee National Volunteer Infrastructure inaugurated in Ghana

    A National Planning Committee for the implementation of a maiden National Volunteer Infrastructure has been inaugurated in Accra by Hon.     UNDP's support to bamboo bike development yields results in Ghana

    The Ghana Bamboo Bike Initiative has presented a bamboo bicycle to Ms. Ruby Sandhu-Rojon, the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Ghana, during a brief ceremony at the UNDP office premises in Ghana. The bicycles have been produced through the UNDP Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme as an innovative means to combat climate change.

    UN system in Ghana marks 68th UN Day with cultural night

    The United Nations system in Ghana last Friday held a Cultural Night of musical performances as part of the 68th United Nations celebrations in the country. The event, which was attended by the diplomatic community, private sector representatives, students and staff of the UN, was the first of its kind to be organised by the UN system. The aim was to portray strategies, through cultural expressions, vulnerable groups adopt to strengthen their resilience and social cohesion.
