Egypt: Assessment of Development Results - Evaluation of UNDP Contribution

February 28, 2013

The Assessment of Development Results (ADR) at the country level is a core area of the UNDP Evaluation Office’s work. Through these evaluations, the Evaluation Office seeks to independently and systematically assess progress around key UNDP interventions in the countries that receive UNDP support. This ADR builds upon a previous ADR conducted in Egypt in 2004, and focuses on achievement of results during the period 2004–2011. The ADR considers all UNDP programme areas: poverty reduction and MDG achievement, democratic governance, environment and energy, and crisis prevention and recovery. It also considers the cross-cutting issues of South-South partnership and women’s empowerment. The ADR provides findings and conclusions about UNDP’s work in Egypt and recommends ways to enhance the alignment of UNDP strategies and programmes within the Egyptian context.
