European Development Days 2013 - Territorial Approach in the Post-2015

04 Nov 2013

UNDP, the Committee of the Regions and the Diputació de Barcelona will organize the following roundtable discussions to be held during the European Development Days (EDD 2013):

Wednesday 27th November - Tour &Taxis Brussels, Room 3

  • 11:00 – 12:15 Territorial approach in the Post-2015 – A political perspective: Details here.
  • 12:45 – 14:00 Territorial approach in the Post-2015 – Views from the field: Details here.

The role of local and regional authorities (LRAs) as key drivers of development has been confirmed during the acceleration of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) implementation. This underlines the importance of bringing the input of LRAs to the discussions on the definition of the renewed global development agenda.

In these sessions we will analyze and discuss the role of LRAs in the current MDG framework and their potential to contribute to the Post-2015 Development Agenda through multi-level and inclusive partnerships for development, both from a political perspective and from the point of view of those working in the field.

Organized by the European Commission, European Development Days (EDD) is Europe’s premier forum on international affairs and development cooperation. The 8th edition of the European Development Days (EDD) will take place in Tour & Taxis (Brussels) on 26 and 27 November 2013.
