Gender Scoping Exercise Workshop

25 Apr 2013

On April 25, UNDP's Energy, Environment and Disaster Management Unit organized a Gender Scoping Workshop in Thimphu, to continue its commitment in training programme staff, implementation partners, and representatives from the Royal Government of Bhutan towards gender sensitization in their work in the country.

The aim of the workshop was to create awareness among staff, implementing partners and beneficiaries about Gender issues in Development.  It is a step further towards the goal of creating a Gender Action Plan, and its eventual implementation, monitoring and assessment.

The workshop saw an introduction to the potent Gender Analysis Matrix tool, as well as activities to demystify gender, and to understand Gender Analysis.  It is a demonstration of the country's, and UNDP's, commitment to mainstream gender issues and work towards gender sensitization at all levels.
