Post Title: National Consultant for Local Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment and Adaptation Planning

Project Name:UNDP/GEF/LDCF Project on Enhancing Sustainability and Climate Resilience of Forest and Agricultural Landscapes and Community  Livelihoods in Bhutan

Contract Type:Individual Contract

Duration:60 working days

UNDP country office invites proposals from qualified and experienced National Consultants to assess the climate change vulnerabilities to local livelihoods, including livelihood assets/ resources, identify existing and potential community-level adaptation responses and associated local capacity development needs to reduce the vulnerabilities, and collect baselines required for GEF CCA tracking tool. The findings of the assessment will be vital to the formulation and design of the UNDP/GEF/LDCF project.

Minimum qualifications:

  •  Master’s degree or higher in climate change adaptation, environmental management, rural development, or related field;
  • At least seven years of relevant progressive work experience;
  • Knowledge and skills for participatory rural appraisal and experience in carrying out climate Extensive experience of working with local governments and communities in rural areas;
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in Dzongkha and local Bhutanese dialects;
  • Very good analytical and report writing skills in English.
