The Project “Enhancing Belize’s Resilience to Adapt to the Effects of Climate Change”, launched in September 2012 is being implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Government of Belize (GoB) and Southern Environmental Association, with funding of the European Union Global Climate Change Alliance (EU GCCA).  The project aims to enhance adaptive capacity and resilience to climate change in national policies and demonstrate action in support of effective governance of climate change and climate change related impacts in the water sector in Belize.

The Belize Marvelous Mangroves Curriculum and the Mangrove Restoration Guide is being presented at the “Marvelous Mangrove Workshop”.  It includes an introduction to the Curriculum and the Guide reflecting the achievement of the project and a field day, providing an opportunity for individual interviews.

Venue:    Ecumenical High School, Dangriga Town, Stann Creek District

Date and Time:  August 6th and 7th, 2013, 8 AM to 3 PM

Participants include:

Martin Keeley, Mangrove Action Project

Omar Sierra, Southern Environmental Association

The Objective of this workshop is to familiarize teachers with the Belize Marvelous Mangrove Curriculum and also to introduce the Mangrove Restoration Guide, both of which, it is hoped, will be endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, for inclusion in Belize’s school curriculums.
