Dr Ahmad is the Chairman of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Chairman of the Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) in Bangladesh. He is also the Coordinator of Bangladesh Climate Change Negotiating Team, in the UNFCCC process.

He analyses the report "A New Global Partnership: Eradicate Poverty and Transform Economies through Sustainable Development" which was published in March 2013 by a High-Level Pannel of Eminent Persons.
