Community Participation in Global Meetings
This space will follow the involvement of local voices at major global conferences to raise their position to achieve their own sustainable development.
Previous participation of local communities at international events, such as the World Summit in Sustainable Development (WSSD), and the World Park Congress have shown the impact of local people in the discussion of global policy positions and trends.

The Community Kampung is an innovative community-focused dialogue space hosted at the 7 th Conference of Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia , from 5-20 February 2004. The Community Kampung is dedicated to highlighting stories on community action and grassroots sustainable development victories from around the world. The Community Kampung also seeks to encourage a dialogue about how we can best develop an enabling environment for community participation in global biodiversity conservation. More Information...
