8 May 2007 (Putrajaya, Malaysia): Dato' Seri Azmi launches Publication on Protecting the Ozone Layer The publication contains information about ozone layer depletion and protection and showcases efforts undertaken by the Malaysian government to implement the Montreal Protocol.The publication was produced in collaboration with the Ozone Protection Section (OPS), the DOE and the Crop Protection and Plant Quarantine Division of the Department of Agriculture. It was noted in the publication that Malaysia is on track to completely phase-out the use of CFCs by 2010. “It is hoped that other countries may learn from Malaysia’s experiences, and that greater efforts and commitment will be shown towards reducing the use of ozone-depleting substances,” said Dr Richard Leete in his speech.
