Development Partnerships Forum Series: Capacity Development Partnerships Forum for MDG-7 and the role of National Capacity Self Assessment (NCSA) and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) 1-5 November 2004, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The Capacity Development Partnerships Forum for MDG 7 in Asia and the Role of National Capacity Self-Assessment and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)NCSA (CDPF-7) is conceived as the first Forum in a series – the Capacity Development Partnerships Forum Series -- for catalyzing capacity development dialogues and initiatives in the region towards achieving the MDGs. The goals of CDPF-7 are to mainstream capacity development into interventions in the environment sector, strengthen coordination and implementation of capacity development initiatives on environment in the region among stakeholders, practitioners, governments, private sector, civil society organizations, and donors. With Capacity 2015 Asia, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), and the UNDP Public Private Partnerships for the Urban Environment (PPPUE) as co-convenors, CDPF-7 aims to utilize the opportunities provided through NCSA projects in each country as an effective entry point to identify capacity needs for attaining MDG-7 which will lead to future capacity development initiatives. Who are the participants and how do I participate? CDPF-7 is a multisectoral forum wherein various sectors -- government, civil society, private, academic, regional/international institutions, development and funding institutions, community organizations, among others, will participate. Participants have been invited to present and/or discuss their respective perspectives on building capacities for MDG-7, and contribute actively during working group sessions in the identification of specific capacity development needs and priorities towards attaining MDG-7 targets. Other interested parties are advised to communicate with the CDPF-7 Secretariat regarding possible participation.
