Small Arms and Mine Action

At the global level, small arms control and mine action require differentiated legal frameworks and policy efforts. However, at the country level, the same national counterparts often cover these two areas of work. In this context, UNDP increasingly recognizes the value added of capitalizing on operational synergies between small arms control and mine action programmes. Where relevant, UNDP's investment in building the capacity of national mine action institutions may be applied to small arms control, thus maximizing potential economies of scale.
