Gender and Crisis

UNDP recognizes gender equality as a core goal of human development, and promotes it through gender mainstreaming. The Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery (BCPR) is committed to UNDP's Eight Point Agenda for Women's Empowerment and Gender Equality in Crisis Prevention and Recovery. In 2008, BCPR called for 10 million USD to help women and girls in crisis for the next two years. The funding is vital to scale up the groundbreaking new strategy that addresses the needs of women affected by conflict and natural disasters.
