8 May - Legal Empowerment of the Rural Poor at the UN's Commission on Sustainable Development. ‘The Rural Poor Lack Rights’ said Executive Director Singh, participating in the panel on Rural Development during the thematic discussions. His presentation is available here.

5 May - The Commission's National Consulation Reports are now available

10 April - Read our press release on Legal Empowerment of the Poor at the First Joint Annual Meetings of the African Union Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance and the Economic Commission for Africa Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development that took place 26 March - 2 April in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

31 March - read Mike Moore's article "Open societies are the best and fairest wealth creators" in The Age.

17 March - Co-Chairs Madeleine Albright and Hernando de Soto will join with some other Commission Members on June 3rd to launch the final Report of the Commission at UN Headquarters in New York. The launch will include the presentation of the Report to the Secretary General as well as to a gathering of prominent country representatives.

14 March - Executive Director gives lecture at York University's Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto. Watch "Law and Poverty: Promoting Legal Empowerment in Developing Countries".
