Having completed its work, the Secretariat of the Commission closed its doors on 31 July 2008. UNDP has agreed to take on many important elements of the Commission's agenda and will continue its work on Legal Empowerment of the Poor.

This website will no longer be updated but will continue to serve as an archive and documentation on the work of the Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor while it was in place from 2005-2008.
